What Have You Learnt About Technologies From The Process Of Constructing This Product?

Research and Planning:

I feel that my research and planning has improved what I've learnt about technologies by; enabling me to be able to use mulitple resources for finding out information on how to create my media product. For example by researching other thrillers to base ours upon, I've found that I could use new websites such as IMDb and read over what people have been saying about certain thrillers in the reviews section; this was useful in research as it helped to identify what our target audience was interested in and base it upon those kinds of films. Another technology that was useful for this was social media sites such as Facebook; this is because we were able too see what people were saying about certain films, but also who they were and what age, ethinicity and culture they were apart of. So we could use the information people willingly publicise and use it too create our thriller based on people aged 13-20.

Shoot and Edit:

I didn't learn a lot about technologies when shooting as the cameras that were available too us were only standard handheld cameras with the ability to use a tripod. However when editing I learnt alot. I had previous experience in editing when using iMovie on my iMac at home so new some basics about the technology. However I learnt more by using a different programme so i now have a lot more confidence in editing for example; inserting titles into clips, freeze-framing, using a soundtrack and playing with the volume of audio in clips among other things.

This enhanced our edit as we were able to do more interesting and complex things with the film making it more entertaining too watch. This also allowed us to cut out all of the parts of the filming we didn't like and switch parts of the film around helping us too come up with a stronger, more interesting story line.
